Caleb’s Beach Breather

Three-year-old Caleb Brubaker likes to play outside, visit playgrounds, go to church, and play with his friends, grandparents, and big brother, Ben. He also likes to build things; do puzzles and play with his cars and trucks; and he especially likes to play in the sand with his toys. So, it was a perfect fit when Caleb was nominated for a Take A Breather wish and his family decided to go to Topsail Island, North Carolina!

In Topsail, the Brubakers soaked up the sunshine and Carolina-blue skies on the beach. Caleb had a great time playing in the sand with Ben, boogie boarding in the surf, and taking walks with his mom and dad. Back at the house (which overlooked the ocean!) Caleb and Ben played cornhole and checkers on the cool, relaxing deck! Caleb and his family explored a little too; they played mini golf, and according to Caleb’s mom, Heather, it was his “first time and he absolutely loved it.” They visited the Historical Society’s Missiles and More Museum, and the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.

The Brubaker’s breather was a relaxing time for everyone, parents included! Heather wrote, “The house was amazing! My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub and relaxing on the deck after the kids went to bed.” Overall, she says, “It was great to have everything taken care of for us and helped us to relax and enjoy our time. The boys loved being there too. It was wonderful to be on a private beach [without] many people around. The weather was perfect all week. I’d definitely recommend taking a trip there to you and anyone for that matter! Thanks again!”
