In loving Memory of Matt McCloskey

We remember and honor the life of our beloved leader, Matt McCloskey. His passing has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and we dedicate this page to celebrating his legacy of compassion, resilience, and steadfast commitment.

Matt’s journey was one of remarkable courage and strength. Despite facing the daily challenges of cystic fibrosis, he remained committed to making a difference in the lives of others. This dedication led him to start the Take A Breather Foundation in 2012—a testament to his compassion and desire to bring joy and respite to families battling cystic fibrosis.

Through Take A Breather, Matt’s vision became a beacon of hope for countless individuals. His selflessness and tireless efforts touched the lives of so many, offering comfort and support during their darkest days. Matt’s impact extended beyond the boundaries of the foundation; he was a source of inspiration and guidance within the CF community, offering a voice of empathy and understanding to all who sought it.

As we reflect on Matt’s life and legacy, we are reminded of his profound wisdom and resilience. He embraced his journey with grace and humility, using his own experiences to uplift and empower others. Matt’s memory will forever be cherished, and his spirit will continue to inspire us to live with compassion, courage, and determination.

In Matt’s own words, “Each of us in our lifetime is given a cross to bear; cystic fibrosis is my cross. What I choose to do with this cross has recently taken on more meaning… I believe I have found one answer, and that is to take my life experience with cystic fibrosis and use it to positively impact the lives of others living with this disease.”

Matt’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Thank you, Matt, for your compassion, your strength, and your dedication to making the world a better place.
