Inspiring Hope and Happiness for Those with Cystic Fibrosis

Our Team

Matt McCloskey

Founder & Surviving CF

As Executive Director, Matt surrounds himself with a dedicated and hard working team. He established Take A Breather to offer families struggling with cystic fibrosis, a temporary escape, a breather from the everyday financial and emotional burdens of this disease.

One of Matt’s most memorable “breathers” was when he heard about a young woman living with CF, who was asked to leave a movie theater because she was coughing. “We immediately contacted the competing theater in her town of Corpus Christi, rented the entire theater, arranged a limo to drive her to the theater, where she met her family and friends. Together they enjoyed a private screening of the movie and ate and drank all the popcorn and soda they could…..and she was able to cough all she wanted”.

Molly McBryan

Director of Giving

As Director of Wish Giving since 2014, Molly is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all wish nominations including working directly with the social workers, the wish committee, and the wish families. She also assists with wish presentations, presents to potential partnering clinics about the Take A Breather Foundation, and is the liaison between partnering clinics and Take A Breather. One of the most rewarding benefits to Molly’s job is to see a wish through from start to finish, and to hear from the wish recipients, after receiving their wish, the incredible impact the wish had on their lives.

Bruce Leto, Jr.

Associate Director of Development and Fundraising

As Associate Director of Development for Take A Breather Foundation since 2017, Bruce is responsible for planning and executing the Take A Breather Gala; securing sponsorships at each of the four events; coordinating individual giving, managing TAB’s donor database, and overseeing the volunteers, gala/development committees, and internship program. Bruce’s favorite Take A Breather experience included presenting Stacie Herceg and her daughter with their Disney Cruise Wish in June 2017 at UPenn Hospital!

Perrin Ryal

Event Coordinator

As the Event Coordinator for Take A Breather Foundation, Perrin works with the team to coordinate logistics and promotion for our events throughout the year, including the Narberth CF Run, Bowling for A Breather, the Longport Take A Breather Beach Dash, and the Take A Breather Gala, as well as smaller events, such as our Pickleball Tournament! Perrin joined the Take A Breather team in 2017 as a volunteer, and later intern. Perrin enjoys working closely with staff and volunteers to bring each unique event to fruition. Yet the most rewarding aspect of her job is getting to know our recipients and learning what a positive impact that a “breather” has in their lives. Perrin is a believer in the power of a getaway- whether it’s diving into a good book, or taking a vacation to somewhere new, and it is a joy to make this possible for others who can truly benefit from a respite.
